Dental crowns are ‘caps’ that cover an entire tooth. They can be made out porcelain or ceramic and are designed to look like the original tooth in size, shape and colour. Crowns can also be made of metal. Crowns are used in cases such as a filling that does not have enough original tooth left, restore a fractured tooth, cover a dental implant, or after a root canal.
A dental bridge is used when there is a gap from missing teeth. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth and is fixed to the neighbouring teeth or dental implants. Bridges can be made of porcelain or ceramic.
